Cottonwood Center for the Arts, Host of the
2011 International Watermedia Show
International Watermedia Exhibition
International Watermedia is our open, juried biennial exhibition. It began as a small regional show and has grown to a biennial international juried exhibition.
Prior to the year 2000, International Watermedia was known simply as Watermedia. In 1997 our Watermedia VIII became an international juried exhibition, exhibiting at the University of Colorado's Gallery of Contemporary Art in Colorado Springs, Colorado. International Watermedia has exhibited at the Gallery of Contemporary art on the campus of the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs (UCCS), Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, and the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center in Pueblo, CO.
The purpose of International Watermedia is to present a rich spectrum of original work by visionary watermedia artists. The exhibition seeks to bring recognition to these watermedia artists and their art.
International Watermedia XVII was June 24 to July 19, 2011 at the Cottonwood Center for the Arts in Colorado Springs. The juror for Selection and Awards is John Salminen, AWS-DF, NWS. Mr. Salminen conducted workshops the first and second weeks of July.
