Welcome to the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society
Our History
Ten watercolor artists
living in the Pikes Peak region of Colorado founded the Pikes Peak
Watercolor Society in 1986 to promote excellence in the watercolor
painting medium and to encourage artistic achievement in the community.
They held their first exhibit at the Pikes Peak Center in Colorado
Springs in March of 1988. Subsequent exhibitions have been held at
the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, the Sangre de Cristo Arts and
Conference Center, the Gallery of Contemporary Art at the University of
Colorado at Colorado Springs, the Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts, and
others.
Our
Mission
The Pikes Peak Watercolor
Society promotes and encourages watercolor through its sponsorship of
exhibitions, scholarships, workshops, and through its support of other
local arts organizations and educational institutions.
Our Members
The PPWS has about 110 Signature and
Associate members. Artists become signature members through
the juried selection process that evaluates the artist's work, and
qualified exhibition record. Associate membership is open to
anyone interested in the promotion of watercolor art in the Pikes
Peak region.
